Other Accomplishments
Martin enlisted in the Oklahoma National Guard in August of 1983, he rose through the ranks, serving in various leadership positions to include two Company Commands and Staff positions until he ultimately commanded the 1-180 Infantry as a Lieutenant Colonel. He served as Executive Officer/Chief of Staff, 1st Battalion 279th Infantry, and Task Force Phoenix (II) Kabul, Afghanistan from September 2003 until August 2004. Martin is the recipient of the Bronze Star, Combat Infantryman's Badge and Meritorious Service Medal, among other rewards.

Martin's father, Fred Tucker, chartered Little Dixie Community Action Agency in 1968 and served as its Executive Director until his passing in 1993. Mother, Martha (Ryan) Tucker, taught second grade at Brantley Elementary in Antlers, OK for 28 years. Sister, Freda House serves as County Director for the Atoka, Coal and Brian Oklahoma Department of Human Services. Brother, Jon Tucker teaches at Antlers Public Schools. Sister, Kathy Wallace teaches at Moyers Public Schools. Martin and his wife Patty have been married since 1983. Patty is a Arbonne Consultant.  Martin and Patty have two daughters: Chelsea and Brittney, and six grandchildren; Camryn, Ashtyn, Tucker, Tanner, Brody and Veronica.
