Interviewing Tips

It is important to be prepared for your job interview. Here are a few helpful tips to help you be successful in your interview.

Always remember to:

• Come alone. Don't bring children and/or friends.
• Greet Interviewer(s) with a handshake.
• Smile, be polite and relax.
• Make frequent eye contact.
• Listen carefully to the questions asked. Ask the Interviewer to repeat the question if you are not clear on what is being asked.
• Answer questions honestly and as direct as possible.
• Give specific examples of how your skills and experience would fit the job.

Questions To Expect:

• Tell me about yourself?
• What do you know about the type of work we do?
• What are some of your weaknesses?
• What are some of your strengths?
• Why did you leave your last job?
• Why should we hire you?

Possible Questions You May Want To Ask:

• When are you making the hiring decision?
• What kind of training is provided or available?
• What kind of benefits do you offer?


• Thank the Interviewer(s) for their time.
• Request a business card.
• Shake hands in closing.
• Two or three days after the interview send a thank you note addressed to the Interviewer(s).
